Some sobering photos showing two dams in the Eastern Cape at a very low capacity due to ongoing drought.
The Nqweba Dam in Graaff-Reinet at 17% capacity as of the last figures from DWS on 21 Sept 2020 and how it looked 5 years ago.
When you see things in this way you get a better understanding of the daily struggle for water.
The Kouga Dam is the biggest supply dam to the Nelson Mandela Bay (Port Elizabeth) Metro and stands at 8.3% as of the 21st Sept 2020 according to the DWS.
Sobering pictures. We hope to see rains remedy this soon.
