🌀 UPDATE on TROPICAL CYCLONE FARIJA

Tuesday 9 Feb 2021

Tropical Cyclone FARAJI has a current Status with Wind Speeds of 100 knots making her a very intense cyclone at present putting her into a Category 3 Cyclone status.

She has lost her eye today, which was visible yesterday and this morning showing a trend towards some weakening.

Tropical Cyclone Faraji 1

Cyclone #Faraji had Wind Speeds of around 130 knots this morning around 8:00 AM making her a Category 4 cyclone but wind speeds have now reduced to 100 knots indicating some weakening.

Tropical Cyclone Faraji 2

Faraji is still currently very far to the East with a very uncertain track.Tracking models attached indicate she “may” start moving West around the 14th of February 2021 but at that point her wind speeds are only estimated at 40 knots and she may very well still regain strength.

Tropical Cyclone Faraji 3

It is a little TOO EARLY to jump to any conclusions. Weather models (which have been wrong many times before with cyclones) do indicate a “possibility” of her moving Westwards towards Southern Madagascar and the islands of the Southern Indian Ocean around the 21st of February but it’s too early to confirm any of that.

Tropical Cyclone Faraji 4

Cyclones of any sort unfortunately have to be monitored DAILY and issuing long term predictions causes nothing but fear and panic.

Tropical Cyclone Faraji 5

This happened twice now already in the past 2 months with pages and groups seeking a sensational kick for some likes on their pages warning about cyclones that never matured. It is not only grossly irresponsible but also unethical to do so to the public.

Tropical Cyclone Faraji 6

We have expert Military teams of the Joint Typhoon Warning Centre (JTWC) monitoring these storms and issuing daily updates.

Tropical Cyclone Faraji 7

We are and will continue to monitor this storm but please do think carefully about pages and groups you follow that are seeking nothing but some likes in exchange for information they certainly cannot even verify right now.

Cyclones obey PHYSICS they do not obey Meteorologists nor do they obey weather models. #afriwx #cyclone #tropicalstorm
