Our advanced forecasting weather models, now merely 2 days out, continue to show significant snowfalls from a very strong cold front developing in the South Atlantic ocean.

Snow falls could start as early as late Thursday night (9 July 2020) or the early hours of Friday morning (10 July 2020). There will also be gale force winds across most coastal areas and parts of the interior (see wind maps below).

The Western Cape, Eastern Cape, Northern Cape, KwaZulu-Natal, the Free State province and Lesotho all look set to receive significant, widespread and disruptive snowfalls in some provinces.

There is even a chance of light snow falling in parts of Southern Namibia (see maps below).

And it does not stop there as even more significant snowfalls are also looking likely from Sunday into Tuesday over much of South Africa and Lesotho.

This weekend promises to turn South Africa into a real Winter Wonderland spanning some several days.
