WARNINGS

A. Yellow level 2 warning Severe thunderstorms strong damaging wind heavy downpours are expected to cause damage to property,blowing-off of roofs (particularly for informal settlements) as well as flooding of susceptible roads and bridges over the Western Bushveld of Limpopo in the early morning. FIRE DANGER

WARNINGS

1. Extreme high fire danger conditions are expected over the central parts of both Free State and Northern Cape. ADVISORIES

1. A heatwave with persistently high temperatures are expected in places over the escarpment and lowveld of Limpopo until Saturday.

2. Hot and humid weather will result in extremely uncomfortable conditions in places over Limpopo and the lowveld of Mpumalanga.

PROVINCIAL WEATHER OVERVIEW

GAUTENG PROVINCE

Partly cloudy with early morning showers in the extreme north, otherwise fine and warm to hot. The expected UVB sunburn Index Extreme

MPUMALANGA PROVINCE

Partly cloudy and hot but very hot to extremely hot in the lowveld, with isolated showers and thundershowers in the east in the morning as well as in the evening.

LIMPOPO PROVINCE

Partly cloudy and hot to very hot with isolated showers and thundershowers over the Western Bushveld in the morning. It will become cloudy in the east in the afternoon, with isolated showers along the escarpment in the evening.

NORTH-WEST PROVINCE

Partly cloudy with isolated morning showers and thundershowers in the north-east, otherwise fine and hot to very hot.

FREE STATE

Fine and warm to hot, becoming partly cloudy.

NORTHERN CAPE

Fine and cool to warm in the west, otherwise hot to very hot. The wind along the coast will be light to moderate north-westerly.

WESTERN CAPE

Light rain over the extreme south-west in the morning otherwise cloudy becoming partly cloudy and cool to warm but fine over the interior. The wind along the coast will be light north-westerly along the west coast at first becoming moderate southerly from the afternoon otherwise south-westerly along the south coast. The expected UVB sunburn Index Very High

WESTERN HALF OF THE EASTERN CAPE

Fine and warm to hot, becoming partly cloudy. The wind along the coast will be Moderate to fresh south-westerly.

EASTERN HALF OF THE EASTERN CAPE

Fine and warm, becoming partly cloudy south of escarpment. The wind along the coast will be Moderate south-westerly.

KWAZULU-NATAL

Morning fog patches in place in the east, otherwise fine and warm, but hot to very hot in the north, becoming partly cloudy in the afternoon. The wind along the coast will be Moderate north-easterly, becoming moderate to fresh south-westerly from the south in the morning, spreading to the north in the afternoon.
