PROVINCIAL WEATHER OVERVIEW

GAUTENG PROVINCE

Cloudy and cool with widespread showers and thundershowers from the afternoon. The expected UVB sunburn Index Moderate

MPUMALANGA PROVINCE

Morning fog patches along the escarpment, otherwise cloudy and cool to warm with isolated to scattered showers and thundershowers, except in the extreme north-east.

LIMPOPO PROVINCE

Morning fog patches along the escarpment, otherwise cloudy and warm to hot with isolated to scattered showers and thundershowers but widespread in the extreme south-west from the evening.

NORTH-WEST PROVINCE

Partly cloudy and cool to warm with scattered showers and thundershowers, but widespread in the east.

FREE STATE

Partly cloudy and cool to warm with scattered showers and thundershowers, but widespread in the north-eastern parts.

NORTHERN CAPE

Morning fog patches along the coast, otherwise partly cloudy and warm with isolated showers and thundershowers but scattered in the north-eastern parts. The wind along the coast will be light to moderate southerly to south-easterly becoming fresh by the afternoon.

WESTERN CAPE

Partly cloudy and cool to warm with isolated showers and thundershowers over the Central Karoo by the afternoon, where it will be hot. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh north-easterly east of Cape Agulhas in the morning, otherwise moderate to fresh north-westerly to westerly but strong at times south of Betty’s Bay by late morning into the afternoon. WESTERN HALF OF THE EASTERN CAPE

Partly cloudy and cool to warm with isolated showers and thundershowers, but scattered in the extreme north. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh north-easterly, becoming south-westerly in the afternoon.

EASTERN HALF OF THE EASTERN CAPE

Cloudy and cool with scattered showers and thundershowers. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh north-easterly, becoming south-westerly west of East London in the evening.

KWAZULU-NATAL

Morning fog patches over the interior, otherwise partly cloudy and warm but hot in places in the north. Scattered showers and thundershowers are expected in the west, otherwise isolated except in the north-east.
