A. Yellow Level 2 Warning for Severe Thunderstorms with possible strong damaging winds and large amounts of small hail, resulting in localised damage to informal houses(roofs) over an open area and localised structural damages (homes, car ports, etc.), is expected over the central parts of the Free State, and the north-western parts of KwaZulu-Natal. FIRE DANGER

WARNINGS

– A. Extremely high fire danger conditions are expected over the northern parts of the Northern Cape, western parts of both the North-West and Free State, as well as the Joe Gqabi District Municipality in the Eastern Cape. ADVISORIES Nil.

GAUTENG PROVINCE

Cloudy at first, otherwise party cloudy and warm with isolated showers and thundershowers. The expected UVB sunburn Index High

MPUMALANGA PROVINCE

Morning fog along the escarpment, otherwise partly cloudy and cool to warm, with isolated showers and thundershowers, except in the north-east.

LIMPOPO PROVINCE

Cloudy in the Western Bushveld at first with isolated showers and thundershowers, otherwise partly cloudy and warm.

NORTH-WEST PROVINCE

Partly cloudy, windy and warm to hot with isolated showers and thundershowers.

FREE STATE

Partly cloudy, windy and warm to hot, with isolated to scattered showers and thundershowers.

NORTHERN CAPE

Cloudy with fog patches along the coast in the morning, otherwise fine and cool, but partly cloudy and warm to hot in the east with isolated showers and thundershowers, but scattered in the north-east. The wind along the coast will be light to moderate westerly to north-westerly.

WESTERN CAPE

Cloudy with fog patches along the west coast, the southern parts, as well as the extreme north-eastern parts in the morning, otherwise partly cloudy and cool to warm with isolated showers over the southern parts from the afternoon. The wind along the coast will be light to moderate westerly to north-westerly along the west coast, otherwise light to moderate easterly to south-easterly. The expected UVB sunburn Index Very High

WESTERN HALF OF THE EASTERN CAPE

Morning fog patches in places over the interior, otherwise fine and warm but cloudy and cool with isolated showers and rain along the coast and adjacent interior. The wind along the coast will be light and variable, becoming light to moderate easterly in the afternoon.

EASTERN HALF OF THE EASTERN CAPE

Morning fog in places over the interior, otherwise cloudy and cool with isolated showers and rain along the coast and adjacent interior. Fine, windy and warm conditions are expected in places over the interior from midday, where it become partly cloudy in the north towards evening with isolated thundershowers. The wind along the coast will be light south westerly, becoming light to moderate easterly in the afternoon.

KWAZULU-NATAL

Morning fog over the interior, otherwise cloudy and warm, but hot in places in the north. Isolated showers and thundershowers are expected by the afternoon. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh north- easterly, reaching near- gale between Richards Bay and Kosi Bay. It will become moderate to fresh southerly to south- westerly south of Durban in the afternoon, spreading to Richard’s Bay by the evening.
