SEVERE WEATHER ALERTS

IMPACT-BASED

Extremely high fire danger conditions are expected over the vast places of Limpopo, the central and eastern part of the Free State and the North West, as well as Tsantsabane and Gamara Municipalities of the Northern Cape. ADVISORIES Extremely hot and uncomfortable conditions are expected in the Western Bushveld, Limpopo Valley and the northern Lowveld of Limpopo.

PROVINCIAL WEATHER OVERVIEW

GAUTENG PROVINCE

Fine in the morning, otherwise partly cloudy and warm to hot but very hot in the extreme north. Isolated showers and thundershowers can be expected in the afternoon. The expected UVB sunburn Index Very High

MPUMALANGA PROVINCE

Fine over the western parts in the morning, otherwise partly cloudy and warm to hot with isolated showers and thundershowers from the afternoon except in the eastern Lowveld.

LIMPOPO PROVINCE

Fine and hot to very hot but extremely hot in the Western Bushveld, Limpopo Valley and the northern parts of the Lowveld, becoming partly cloudy with isolated showers and thundershowers over the western and southern parts from the afternoon.

NORTH-WEST PROVINCE

Fine and hot to very hot, becoming partly cloudy in the east by the afternoon, with isolated showers and thundershowers.

FREE STATE

Fine and warm to hot.

NORTHERN CAPE

Partly cloudy in the south-east in the morning, otherwise fine and warm to hot but cool along the coast and over the southern interior. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh southerly to south- easterly

WESTERN CAPE

Partly cloudy over the central and eastern parts in the morning, otherwise fine and warm but cool in places in the south. The wind along the coast will be light to moderate southerly to south- westerly along the south coast in the morning, otherwise moderate to fresh south-easterly The expected UVB sunburn Index Extreme

WESTERN HALF OF THE EASTERN CAPE

Fine and warm. The wind along the coast will be moderate south-westerly becoming south-easterly in the evening.

EASTERN HALF OF THE EASTERN CAPE

Fine and warm, but partly cloudy over the Wild Coast and adjacent interior. The wind along the coast will be moderate south-westerly becoming easterly in the evening.

KWAZULU-NATAL

Morning fog in places over the interior, otherwise partly cloudy and cool to warm, becoming cloudy in the evening with isolated afternoon showers and thundershowers. The wind along the coast will be light south-westerly in the south at first, otherwise moderate to fresh southerly to south-easterly.
