SEVERE WEATHER ALERTS

IMPACT-BASED

WARNINGS

A. Yellow level 2 warning for Severe Thunderstorms resulting in strong winds, excessive lighting and heavy downpours leading to localised damage to infrastructure, localised flooding of susceptible areas (formal/informal settlement), roads and low-lying bridges over the western parts of Mpumalanga, Western Bushveld and south-western parts of Limpopo as well Gauteng. B. Yellow level 2 warning for Damaging Winds resulting in difficulty in navigation as well as localised disruption of small harbours and ports are expected between Cape Columbine and Cape Agulhas on Monday afternoon into Tuesday. FIRE DANGER

WARNINGS

A. Extremely high fire danger conditions are expected over the Dawid Kruiper Municipality of the Northern Cape, Matjhabeng Municipality of the Free State as well as Musina Municipality of Limpopo. ADVISORIES Nil.

PROVINCIAL WEATHER OVERVIEW

GAUTENG PROVINCE

Fine in the morning, otherwise partly cloudy and warm but hot in the north. Scattered showers and thundershowers can be expected in the afternoon. The expected UVB sunburn Index High

MPUMALANGA PROVINCE

Cloudy in the east with showers and rain, otherwise partly cloudy and cool to warm. Scattered afternoon thundershowers are expected in places but isolated in the extreme north-east.

LIMPOPO PROVINCE

Cloudy in the east, otherwise partly cloudy and warm to hot but very hot in Limpopo Valley and extreme western parts of the Western Bushveld. Scattered thundershowers in the west, otherwise, isolated are expected in the central and western central.

NORTH-WEST PROVINCE

Fine and hot to very hot, becoming partly cloudy in the east in the afternoon with isolated to scattered showers and thundershowers.

FREE STATE

Cloudy with morning fog patches in the far east, otherwise fine and warm to hot becoming partly cloudy in the east with isolated shower and thundershowers in the afternoon.

NORTHERN CAPE

Partly cloudy over the southern interior at first, otherwise, fine and warm to hot, but very hot in the north. The wind along the coast will be fresh to strong southerly to south-easterly.

WESTERN CAPE

Cloudy in the east in the morning, otherwise fine and warm to hot but partly cloudy along the south coast and adjacent interior. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh easterly to south-easterly along the south coast, strong at times in the afternoon, otherwise fresh to strong southerly to south-easterly. WESTERN HALF OF THE EASTERN CAPE

Isolated showers and rain along the coast and adjacent interior in the morning where it will be cloudy otherwise partly cloudy and cool becoming fine over the interior by afternoon. The wind along the coast will be light south-westerly, becoming south easterly by evening.

EASTERN HALF OF THE EASTERN CAPE

Morning fog and drizzle over the north eastern parts, otherwise fine and cool but cloudy with isolated showers in places along the coast and adjacent interior as well as the eastern parts. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh south-westerly.

KWAZULU-NATAL
