WARNINGS

A. Yellow level 2 for Severe Thunderstorms resulting in DAMAGING winds, large amounts of small hail and heavy downpours expected over the eastern parts of the Highveld and escarpment areas in Mpumalanga as well as the western and interior of KwaZulu Natal. FIRE DANGER

WARNINGS

Extremely high fire danger conditions are expected over the central and the eastern parts of the Northern Cape as well as Lowveld and extreme northern parts of Limpopo. ADVISORIES Nil.

PROVINCIAL WEATHER OVERVIEW

GAUTENG PROVINCE

Fine in the morning, otherwise partly cloudy and warm but hot in the north. Isolated showers and thundershowers can be expected but scattered in the south. The expected UVB sunburn Index Extreme

MPUMALANGA PROVINCE

Partly cloudy and warm to hot but very to extremely hot in the Lowveld. Scattered showers and thundershowers can be expected, becoming cloudy from the south by the afternoon.

LIMPOPO PROVINCE

Fine and hot to very hot, becoming partly cloudy in the south towards the afternoon but cloudy in the south-east with isolated to scattered showers and thundershowers. It will be extremely hot in places on the Lowveld and Limpopo Valley.

NORTH-WEST PROVINCE

Partly cloudy and hot to very hot, with isolated showers and thundershowers, but scattered in the south-east.

FREE STATE

Partly cloudy and warm to hot, with isolated to scattered showers and thundershowers, except in the extreme south-western parts.

NORTHERN CAPE

Cloudy along the coast in the morning where it will be cool, otherwise fine and warm but hot in the east. It will become partly cloudy with isolated showers and thundershowers in the extreme east. The wind along the coast will be strong southerly to south-easterly.

WESTERN CAPE

Cloudy and cool along the coast and adjacent interior where isolated to scattered rain and showers can be expected in the morning but persisting in the extreme eastern parts of the south coast, otherwise partly cloudy and warm. The wind along the coast will be fresh to strong south to south-westerly, becoming south-easterly along the south-west coast in the evening. The expected UVB sunburn Index Very High

WESTERN HALF OF THE EASTERN CAPE

Partly cloudy and warm in places in the north, otherwise cloudy and cool with isolated showers and rain, but scattered west of Gqeberha. The wind along the coast will be fresh to strong south-westerly, but light to moderate early morning.

EASTERN HALF OF THE EASTERN CAPE

Partly cloudy and warm north of the escarpment, otherwise cloudy and cool with isolated showers and rain, but scattered in the east. The wind along the coast will be light to moderate south-westerly, becoming fresh to strong from mid-morning.

KWAZULU-NATAL

Partly cloudy and warm in the south, but hot to very in the north becoming cloudy in the afternoon with scattered showers and thundershowers. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh north-easterly in the north at first, otherwise moderate to fresh south-westerly, spreading northwards.
