SEVERE WEATHER ALERTS
IMPACT-BASED
WARNINGS
1.An orange level 5 warning for coastal W to NW wind with impacts including disruption to small harbours ports over short period time, disruption to beachfront activities, is expected between Table bay and Cape Agulhas.
2. A yellow level 2 warning for coastal W to NW wind with impacts including difficulty in navigation, small vessels and personal watercraft taking on water/capsizing, is expected between cape Columbine and Stilbaai until Wednesday.
3. A yellow level 2 warning for interior NW wind with impacts including localised problems for high-sided vehicles on prone routes (n1, n7, r321, r43), localised damage to settlements (formal and informal) is expected tomorrow over Cape Metropole, but over the western cape interior on Wednesday.
4. A yellow level 4 warning for rain which will lead to flooding of roads and settlements is expected over the Cape Metropole, South-Western Cape Winelands and western overberg from the evening to wednesday. FIRE DANGER
WARNINGS
Extremely high fire danger conditions are expected over the central parts of the western Cape, eastern parts of the Northern Cape, the northern parts of the Eastern Cape as well as the extreme western parts of the Free State. ADVISORIES NIL.

NORTHERN CAPE
Partly cloudy with morning fog over the extreme north west, otherwise fine and cool to warm but hot in places. The wind along the coast will be light to moderate south-easterly reaching fresh to strong in the afternoon.
WESTERN CAPE
Partly cloudy and cool to warm with rain along the south western coast in the morning, spreading over the south coast by the afternoon. Morning drizzle along the escarpment, otherwise partly cloudy and warm, but cloudy along the coast. Strong winds can be expected in places over the northern and central interior. The wind along the coast will be light to moderate westerly, but northeasterly in the evening.
KWAZULU-NATAL
Morning fog patches over the interior, otherwise partly cloudy and warm but hot in places in the north. The wind along the coast will be moderate southerly to south-westerly south of St Lucia in the morning otherwise northerly to north-easterly, becoming fresh in the north by late afternoon.
