SEVERE WEATHER ALERTS

WARNINGS

1. Gale to strong Gale force W to NW winds of 62 to 74km/h is expected between Plettenberg Bay and East London.

2. High seas with wave heights between 6.0 and 7.0m are expected from Cape Columbine spreading to Port Edward by the afternoon.

1. A well developed cold front is expected to affect the Western and Northern Cape provinces from late Friday evening to Sunday (14-16/08/2020). The public and/or small stock farmers are advised that snow, very cold conditions, Gale Force winds and rough seas and significant rainfall can be expected.

Fine and warm.

LIMPOPO PROVINCE

Fine and warm, but hot in the northern areas.

NORTH-WEST PROVINCE

Fine and cool, but warm in the north-east.

FREE STATE

Fine and cool, but cold in the south and south-east.

NORTHERN CAPE

Cloudy with fog patches in the extreme south and west at first, otherwise fine and cool, but cold in the south where it will be partly cloudy. The wind along the coast will be Strong southerly to south-easterly.

WESTERN CAPE

Cloudy and cool to cold with early morning rain-showers over the south-western parts. It will becoming partly cloudy to clear skies towards the evening over the eastern and central parts as well as the northern parts of the West Coast District. The wind along the coast will be Gale force south-westerly east of Cape Agulhas in the morning otherwise fresh to strong southerly to south-westerly moderating in the late afternoon. WESTERN HALF OF THE EASTERN CAPE

Cloudy and cold with light morning rain in places in the east, but scattered showers and rain along the coast. It will become fine in the afternoon. The wind along the coast will be Strong south westerly, reaching gale force in places in the morning, moderating in the evening.

EASTERN HALF OF THE EASTERN CAPE

Cool along the coast, otherwise fine and cold, but cloudy in places in the west at first. The wind along the coast will be Moderate to fresh south westerly, but strong in the south, where it will reach gale force in the morning.

KWAZULU-NATAL

Fine and cool but warm in the north. It will become partly cloudy from the east in the afternoon. The wind along the coast will be Light westerly to north-westerly at first, otherwise moderate to fresh southerly to south-westerly. The expected UVB sunburn Index Moderate
